Work it Daily or Let It Go?
by Jeannette Maw

Here's a question I hear a lot from folks who are starting (or wanting) to have fun with their deliberate creation practice:

"Should I just put my intention out there once and then forget about it, or do I need to repeat it regularly until it happens?"

It's an interesting question, considering that most of the guidance we get from manifesting experts tell us the key to successful manifesting is regular repetition of our desired result.

John Assaraf in The Answer suggests a 30 minute routine three times a day, including 10 minutes of meditation, 10 minutes of visualizing, and 10 minutes of affirmations.  Jack Canfield in The Success Principles advises reading written goals out loud three times a day.  Mike Dooley in Infinite Possibilities recommends no more than visualizing your dream come true five minutes at a time once or twice a day max.

My point being that we get a lot of encouragement to regularly visit with our goals and desires.

But what about those times when our best manifestations occur after we just think a little thought, quite casually and informally, and then the next thing we know it's come to fruition - without any effort or action or additional thought on our part?

I mean, if Universe knows what we want, why do we have to repeat it?  Yet, if we only have to put out our intention once, why aren't more things happening and why all the expert advice to revisit it?

Like everyone else, I've experienced it both ways myself.  So is the best practice to think it once and let it go, or work it daily until it shows up?

Here's what I practice:

If my default vibration is not aligned, I work it.  If my default vibration is in alignment, I forget about it.

My reasoning is that if the energy I'm flowing is lined up to easily allow my desire to manifest, there's no work to be done.  Just sit back, enjoy, and take any inspired action that reveals itself.

If, on the other hand, my energy is in doubt or somehow blocking what I want, then I spend regular time conditioning myself to get familiar and comfortable with the outcome I want.

For example, my intention to attract a generous and vocal community of deliberate creators at Good Vibe Blog - my vibe's totally lined up with that.  That one is home free - all I gotta do is stay out of its way.

But my intention to place my foster kitty in the perfect home - that desire gets repeat visits from me.  Not every day, but several times a week I'll imagine him (or write about him) having fun in a fabulous new home with dedicated, loving, and responsible people where there's another friendly cat for him to play with and lots of entertainment and TLC for a long happy life.

And yours might be the exact opposite.  Maybe it's easy for you to see happy endings for the animals in your world, but building a strong online community - that's another story.

That's why I believe we have to feel it out for ourselves in order to know what practices and habits serve us best.

Having said all that, I have to admit Mike Dooley's plan works really well for me.  Find what serves YOU best and put it to work!
