solution vs. problem energySolution vs. Problem Energy
by Jeannette Maw

In my newly remodeled (and quite gorgeous) blog, I wrote about TK's "freak out factor" with teammate Rachel on the tenth episode of this season's Amazing Race.  (Truth be told, it was her freakout, he just coined it.)

TK and Rachel were far behind the other teams, which brought this normally mellow couple to uncharacteristic moments of freak out.  To their credit, they soon realized it was hurting their game, and returned to their normal optimistic outlooks.  (Which helped them finish in the final three!)

Those of you don't watch reality tv will still be able to relate to the frustration we feel when things aren't going our way.  When traffic isn't cooperating, the computer is down, kids are sick, paycheck delayed ... there are lots of every day opportunities for us to immerse ourselves in the frustrating energy of the problem.

And while we're in that problem, we want nothing more than to be rid of it.  When things are bad, that's when we really want them to be better!

But moving into solution doesn't happen as long as we're stuck in the energy of the problem.

In order to get where we want to be, we have to switch up the energy.  We have to release the frustration, resentment, fear or whatever else might be present as a result of our perception of the problem - that isn't aligned to what the solution feels like.

For example, when I was overdue for a raise, it was easy to feel indignant, underappreciated and taken advantage of.   As long as I flowed that energy, there was no way I could get results that didn't feel that same way, because like attracts like.  So I have to change how I feel FIRST, and then the desired results can come in.

Now that I know this, I practice it.  When I look for a missing foster dog, I don't look with the sick feeling of having lost an animal.  I look with the "There you are!" flood of relief.  Or if I can't feel relief, at least I can flow "it's okay, it'll all work out" energy instead of freaking out energy.

Many of us get too caught up in the details of reality to pay attention to what energy we're flowing, let alone deliberately switch it up.  But cultivating that switch up habit allows much more solution into your life!

Tips & Tricks: how to create the habit of flowing solution energy when it really counts

So how do you move from the energy of the problem into the energy of the solution?  It's simpler than you might think.

But before you can do it, you have to be aware of what's happening.

For example, if you don't realize when you're in full blown freak out mode, you have no power to shift it.  Paying attention to how you feel will help develop stronger awareness of your energy.

Once you’re aware of being in "problem energy," recognize you're flowing a vibration that is not aligned with the solution.  What WOULD the solution feel like?  That's your ticket to solution - whatever that would feel like then, flow that now.

You can do that by:

And yes, you CAN do that on a dime.  You can be right in the throes of something awful, recognize that you are in the throes of it, and shift your feelings purposely in that very moment.  Nothing needs to change "out there" before you change how you feel "in here."

Sitting in the vet's office waiting for him to come back with x-rays of Koda's dyplasic hips, I felt anxiety creeping in.  I was afraid he would walk in with bad news.  That's what I don't want.

What I do want is: "ah, this is no big deal, Jeannette.  This is simple."  What would that feel like?  RELIEF!  A big sigh of relief!  That's what I wanted.  So I imagined the "no big deal" words coming from the vet, and my immense relief.  I used my skills of fantasy to flow the solution energy.

(And vet walked in saying yes, he could see there was an issue, but wouldn't recommend surgery or even pain killers.  Asked what his symptoms were; when I said "he gets worn out easily when he plays and he can't go on long walks" he said, "Sounds like no big deal."  No big deal indeed!)

In other situations it may be easier to find a new perspective.  ("So what if he has to have surgery?  At least they can fix it!")  Or borrowing from my extensive past in the vet's office, I might think of that time when I was super worried about Kita's uncontrollable head shaking, thinking there was something neurologically wrong with her that she'd never recover from.  Vet said, "No big deal, Jeannette, she'll grow out of it."  And she did!  Just recalling that makes me feel better!

Get creative in taking yourself to the feeling of the solution, instead of just dwelling in the energy of the problem.  As you do, you give Universe lots of room to have good fun with you!
