your chronic thoughtsYour Chronic Thoughts
by Jeannette Maw

Those who have worked with me know my daily habit of employing four elements for manifesting: in the shower (water amplifies) I give thanks (power of gratitude) to angels (harnessing source energy) for what I want as if it's already delivered (creating vibrational alignment).

It's a fun habit that treats me well.

But the truth is, it happens just once a day and doesn't last more than a minute or so.  Yes, it's a powerful proclamation and gives a nice boost to the vibe, but as Abe says, it's the chronic day in, day out thoughts that attract our reality.

When I checked in on my day in, day out thoughts regarding my intention to reach my "best shape ever," I realized those daily thoughts are still a mixed bag.

Thanks go to you folks for showing me this.

See, I'm often asked questions like: "I've been doing this for one/six/twelve months now, Jeannette - why hasn't it happened?"  You say you've thought the good thoughts, expected good things, relaxed, did what felt good, and still ... NADA.

I know it feels like a frustrating mystery to you, but it's no big secret.  I've seen it too many times not to recognize what's at play.  Which makes it nearly impossible to miss when I do it, too.

Remember: there's no getting passed over by Universe; there are no slip ups with Law of Attraction.  We get what we vibrate.  Period.

So if you're not getting what you want, you're simply not vibrating it.  Yet.

And you can look to your daily, habitual thoughts for that missing alignment.

For example, I'm full of love and appreciation for my beautiful body each day in the shower.  I have that routine down pat.  I've got it goin' on and there's no convincing me otherwise.

Once in the closet, though, things start to spiral a little.

"Don't wear those shorts, you have to lose a couple more pounds till they're comfortable.  No, not that top, it'll show your big belly."

And then there's breakfast:

"Cereal again, huh?  Remember what the doc said about grains: it's what we feed cattle to fatten them up."  whew.

On to a day of sitting in the office chair, with thoughts that go something like, "You need to get up and move.  Your body is calling for action, and that butt's only gonna get bigger if you don't start listening ..."

And then I refuse a client's request for a 6 am session and I'm drawn into a conversation about how sleep is crucial for me because I'm treating adrenal fatigue which requires generous amounts of sleep.  So now I'm telling my adrenal fatigue story OUT LOUD - which is clearly not in alignment with "best shape ever."

Yeah, those chronic day in, day out thoughts.

That's where you want to look to when things are taking a while to manifest.  This deliberate creation stuff happens FAST.  It's not supposed to take long.

Tips & Tricks: the number one key to handling those troubling day in, day out thoughts.

When a caller told me she's been thinking true love thoughts consistently for three months but still doesn't have results, I asked her to walk me through a typical day.

She told how she's got a morning meditation to call in true love; on the way to work she listens to a CD to help her align with her soul mate; and while she's going through her day she expects him to show up at any time.

Yeah, that's the "pretty part."  I asked her to tell me about the rest of the day.  The part that includes the thoughts we're so accustomed to, they don't even stand out.

She thought about it (huge credit to her for that!) and admitted that every time a co-worker's spouse calls them at work she's reminded no one calls her.  When she sees women shopping for men's things, she feels a little pang that they have a man in their life and she doesn't.  Every time she gets in her car and sees her "service engine" light on, she wistfully wishes someone in her life would take care of that.

All of which thoughts are very clear signals to Universe that "I am alone."

These thoughts aren't the problem in and of themselves.  It's our lack of awareness of what we're thinking that leads to frustration when we don't manifest what we want.

Once we see these contrary thoughts it relieves the frustration from feeling like we got shortchanged by LOA.  In addition to that, being conscious of these thoughts also puts us in the power seat for changing them.

Gaining that awareness of chronic contrary thoughts takes some honesty and genuine introspection, and is crucial for holding the deliberate creation reins firmly in hand.
